Our sisterhood focuses on supporting women, children, and youth.
Please Join Us for Our Gathering!!
Tuesday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall—Light refreshments served.
Guest Speaker: Christy Lane from Vine Maple Place in Maple Valley
The vision of Vine Maple Place is to end family homelessness in South King County, resulting in healthier communities where every child and parent has a stable home to grow and thrive. They seek to break the generational cycle of homelessness by working with single parents and their children.
We will be assembling Meals-in-a-Bag for Vine Maple Place. All the makings of a home-cooked meal are provided in a bag with a recipe attached to the outside. United Women in Faith will be purchasing food and providing paper sacks for 15 bags. We would love to make more meals-in-a-bag for their clients. It is optional, but if you are able, please bring the ingredients from one or more of their recipes. You may view the recipes at the following link: vinemapleplace.org/get-involved. Click on “View Recipes” under “Provide A Meal for a Family.”

Women, Join Susanna Wesley Circle
Susanna Wesley Circle of the United Women in Faith meets via Zoom on fourth Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. Circle is a time for fellowship, study of a book we choose, and learning about and participating in the larger United Women in Faith activities. It is a sisterhood of sharing our life experiences, supporting each other through the ups and downs of life, and learning together.
This year, we will study Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life by Tish Harrison Warren. The author states, “We are shaped every day, whether we know it or not, by practices-rituals and liturgies that make us who we are. We receive these practices-which are often rote-not only from the church or the Scriptures but from the culture, from the “air around us.” We hope you will join us in investigating rituals such as bed-making, brushing our teeth, checking our email, drinking tea, and more. These rituals can be pathways to greater faith.
Used and new copies of the book can be obtained online at Amazon and other booksellers. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Our meetings are open to women who want to grow in faith and fellowship.
