Kent CROP Hunger Walk

Our 33rd Kent CROP Hunger Walk:
People Loving, Serving, Sharing

Sunday, October 12, 2025

Walkers this year will gather between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 pm at our Kent United Methodist Church. The walk begins at 1:00.

Kent United Methodist Church has a team sponsored by the Outreach: Beyond Our Walls Committee.

We will park in the west parking lot, and the check-in table will be located on the sidewalk outside the west side of the Fellowship Hall.  We will gather on the grass next to the playground, and Pastor John Snell from the First Baptist Church will bless our walk.

We will walk west on the sidewalk along 248th Street in front of the Kent YMCA, then proceed to Morrill Meadows Park, and finally walk a large loop in the park (maps will be provided).  After the walk, we will enjoy delicious hot dogs, apple slices, and chips.

We encourage our KUMC Kent CROP Hunger Walk supporters to go to the Kent CROP Hunger Walk website at events.crophungerwalk.org/crophungerwalks/event/kentwa.

If you enjoy walking, sign up to walk as a member of our KUMC team and make a donation or collect donations.  If you’re unable to walk, please consider donating to a walker on our KUMC team!

Walkers raise funds to help end hunger in our community and around the world. Your participation impacts individuals and families in more than 30 countries. In many developing nations, people walk as many as 6 miles a day to get food and water. One in 9 people worldwide lack access to clean water and a healthy diet. We walk in solidarity with their struggle.

75% of the money collected will go to Church World Service's worldwide efforts. For example, it will work with communities to help build sand dams that provide water, give micro-nutrient packets to feed children, or provide tools and seeds to help keep a family fed and healthy.

25% will stay in Kent, benefiting the following programs:

  • Kent Community Supper, which feeds dinner each Monday & Thursday nights to anyone who comes to Kent Lutheran Church

  • Kent Food Bank

  • Kent First Baptist Church Free Community Pantry on Thursday evenings.

Please join The Kent CROP Hunger Walk on October 12, 2025.

Be a Walker. Be a Donor.

Together, we can make a difference, one step at a time!
