Walk Through Grief Support Group
The Walking Through Grief support group is a nine-week video series that you can start anytime. This group meets weekly on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Room 21. This program is designed to give you tools for finding hope along the grief journey.
Each Sunday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., a group gathers for grief support in Room 20 in the Quad. The program is based on a series of videos hosted by Alan Pederson and Dr. Darcie Sims, who, along with other contributors, share their journey toward hope. Each participant is given a workbook that goes along with the videos. This group is open to all church members as well as family and friends. We laugh and cry together, share our journeys with one another, and celebrate the milestones each has achieved. The facilitators for this group are Sheila Murray and Julie Scranton.
Here is an unsolicited testimony from one of the participants who has been blessed by the program and has been a blessing to others in the program.
“Finding the Grief Support Group as I started my experience with profound grief is exactly where I need to be. It is a safe place where those who are grieving can be honest and open on what they are going through. It is an interactive, open-minded group of grievers who understand best. The videos offered at each session are so informative and facilitated by an expert in the field of grieving. Dr. Darcie Sims discusses every aspect of how we fell and valuable tools to help are included in each session. Our local facilitators, Sheila and Julie also have years of experience helping those grieving. It is evident with the love, support and professionalism we feel each session from them. I am so thankful I was encouraged to attend!
We welcome any and all who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
